What Is ASTCP?

The American Sub-Teacher Certification Program (ASTCP) is a comprehensive, practice-based training designed to prepare substitute teachers for the real demands of U.S. K–12 classrooms.

This program goes beyond theory.
It focuses on decision-making, classroom readiness, student safety, and professional judgment.

ASTCP is built for today’s schools—and the realities substitutes actually face.

Why ASTCP Is Different

ASTCP focuses on what actually happens in classrooms.
Instead of long lectures, you learn through:

Interactive videos
Real-world classroom scenarios
Decision-based simulations
Applied assessments

You don’t just learn what to do.
You practice how to think as a professional educator.
